The Caribbean region is home to many nearby island territories that generate large inflows of people and goods, not least agricultural goods. As a result, it is particularly conducive to the introduction and spread of infectious human, animal and plant diseases that threaten the socio-economic balance of its territories. The successive health crises that are increasingly affecting Guadeloupe (ZIKA...) illustrate how the intensification of trade increases the risks to the populations and agriculture of the territory.
