RECONFIGURATION OF THE WONCHE-DALCIAT WATER SEWERAGE SYSTEM IN MAHAULT BAY BY REMOVING MINI-STEPS

The transfer of water and sanitation jurisdiction from the City of Baie-Mahault to Cap Excellence follows the Prefectural Order of November 29, 2012. Today, the situation regarding sanitation in the sector from Wonche to Dalciat is as follows: •the area includes 5 subdivisions each with a mini STEP: oDomaine de Pasquereau, oDomaine de Dorville, the non-compliant private sewage treatment plant 2585 EH oresidence les Pélicans, o Cassiopée subdivision, o Wonche subdivision, in chronic dysfunction. •a need for the sanitation of new dwellings to be met by provision 43 of the SDAGE The aim is to bring into conformity the collective sanitation system of the Wonche-Dalciat-Dorville sector as required by Prefectural Order No. DEAL/RN-2016-06-16-003 of 16 June 2016: •by removing all the mini STEPS •and by transporting the waste water to the Trioncelle STEP that was commissioned in 2015 and is currently under-treatment compared to its nominal capacity (18,500 EH). The solution is to carry out 5 discharge stations instead of failing mini-STEPs in order to send the effluent to the existing network. The project will be carried out in two operational phases: •Phase 1 (sectors 3.5 and 6) starting in 2019 •Phase 2 (sectors 2.4 and 1) scheduled for 2020
