Biometal SAS is the result of the merger in 1988 of two martini-based metallurgical companies, TREFIMA and sermeta created in 1980 on the initiative of local traders in order to transform steels for the BTP market. In 1993, the Laguarigue group controlled Biometal to refocus Biometal on its core business, metallurgy and geographical area. On 30/06/2010 as part of an internal reorganisation of the Laguarigue group, Biometal SA brought to METALAG its entire steel and metal processing business as well as all the activities directly related to it. Subsequently, Biometal changed its name to Biometal HOLDING SA, METALAG changed its name to Biometal SAS
