In recent years, the Sargasses phenomenon has tended to proliferate since June 2011 in the Caribbean Seas and particularly in Martinique. Cape Nord faces a phenomenon of massive grounding mainly on the communes of the Atlantic façade and more particularly the communes of Robert, Trinity, Sainte-Marie and Marigot. Studies tend to prove that despite its unpredictability, this invasion will continue with consequences which, even if they are apparent, are still difficult to measure: environmental, human and financial risks felt by the populations concerned. Cap Nord Martinique, anxious to accompany and secure a coastal system to combat the flooding of sargasses, decided, in addition to its participation in the establishment of ACI (Ateliers Chantiers d’Insertion) for the collection of stranded algae, a acquisition dossier meeting the needs of the affected municipalities. This equipment will be shared and made available to the municipalities. Collection is a beneficial element for terrestrial and marine biodiversity as it allows these wetlands to be delivered and useful to the coast from the destructive impact of sargasses, hence the need to acquire environmentally friendly and environmentally friendly material for their removal. It should be noted that the specifications for this equipment were designed by DEAL in conjunction with the technical services of the cities impacted.
