The Association ADIIE, missioned by the city of Sainte-Marie, to undertake activities in the field of professional and social integration, set up, in 2011, a Atelier Chantier d’Insertion entitled “Jardin de Thés et d’Epices-production de Fibres” intended to produce medicinal and aromatic plants for sale and tasting on site and on the various markets available in the area. It has also established a production of Aroma and cachibou ornamental plants whose fibers are used in the manufacture of the Caribbean basketry. The ACI “Tea and Spice Garden” is also an agri-tourist visiting place for young and adult audiences interested in reclaiming the plant heritage and related knowledge. With this AIT, we aim to create a dynamic environment that allows people to exist, express themselves, become responsible, clarify their plans for inclusion, position themselves in relation to the requirements of a job, progress in terms of learning, skills, abilities and basic knowledge. The aim is to implement a system capable of ultimately reversing this trend by employing 12 long-term jobseekers and resocialising them by means of postures and reflexes inherent in the world of paid work, by qualifying training first and then by exits into employment or on training.
