A privileged player in the preservation of Burgundy natural environments (mares, lawns...) or species with high stakes throughout the territory (in partnership with a network of local actors), the Conservatory of Natural Areas of Burgundy manages more than 162 sites in the four departments, through land acquisitions or management agreements. CENB is also the manager or co-manager of three national nature reserves: the Truchère-Ratenelle (71), the Bois du Parc (89) and the Loire Valley (58). CENB’s activities are set out in 4 broad guidelines: to know: acquisition of scientific knowledge on the Burgundy natural heritage, prerequisites for the implementation of protective measures -protect: preservation of natural areas through construction management, land management and/or regulatory protection — manage: development of management framework documents and scientific follow-ups — raise awareness: implementation of guided tours, discovery trails, various communication materials to raise public awareness of the preservation of the natural heritage.
