The ranking of the vineyards of Burgundy as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the creation of the International City of Gastronomy and Wine, offer the opportunity to lead an ambitious sustainable city project. Thus, the creation of a multimodal pole around the station makes it possible to create a new urban route by improving the service to priority areas. To this end, Dijon Metropolis makes improvements designed to facilitate access to the new pole and the garden of the Arquebuse, a site remarkable from a landscape and heritage point of view. A pedestrian and multi-modal platform designed to fluidise the various modes of traffic (buses and soft modes) which will form part of a vast transport improvement project called Prioribus, will improve access to the station and the garden. A pedestrian walkway will create a link between access to the station and public transport on Albert 1st Avenue and the lower level of the Jardin de l’Arquebuse, with continuity to the International City of Gastronomy and Wine. The Jardin de l’Arquebuse will also be redesigned with the creation of a landscaping path. By facilitating everyone’s access to a remarkable heritage site now connected to the train station and the city centre, Dijon metropolis aims to promote the environment and attractiveness of the regional capital, thus responding to the priorities of the European Union.
