Requalification and pedestrianisation of streets and squares in the historic city centre of Dijon

Dijon Métropole continues the requalification and pedestrianisation of the historic city centre of Dijon, the regional capital of Burgundy-Franche-Comté, carrying out a fourth phase of work around the Palace of Dukes and States of Burgundy and the Museum of Fine Arts metamorphose. Rue des Forges, from Place Notre Dame, streets Jeannin, Verrerie, Prefecture and Longepierre to the crossroads with Rue Lamonnoye will be pedestrianised at the end of the works, as well as the Place de la Sainte Chapelle and the parvis Notre Dame, which were a parking lot for cars so far. 7.000 m² will be offered in particular to pedestrians, cyclists, people with reduced mobility, promoting the development of gentle modes of travel. Boucharded concrete and Burgundy stone will be used and plantations carried out in the continuity of the previous slices, thereby reinforcing the urban identity of Dijon and meeting the objectives of improving the attractiveness of the city, combating global warming and reducing air pollution.
