The departmental council has been appointed as the contracting authority for the 4 Natura 2000 sites: it therefore wishes to ensure consistency with the departmental competence in the field of environmental conservation, namely the Sensitive Nature Areas policy. The objectives of these four sites concern both faunistic, floristic species and their habitats: Beaver d’Europe, Yellow belly ringer, fine-bodied Cordulia, Palud Azure, Prairie Chiroptery in Colchiques, shrubs and lawns, wetlands and forest areas and water quality. All the management tools proposed by Natura 2000 will be used to achieve the highest conservation status of these species and their habitats.
