E-MEUSE SANTE

While health is commonly seen as our most valuable asset, access to care is subject to sharp and growing geographical inequalities. For rural citizens, health is far and expensive: healthcare facilities and professionals are concentrated in major cities and they need to make long and expensive journeys to access them. Without a metropolis and sparsely populated, the Meuse department symbolises these medical deserts that fuel territorial inequalities and rural desertification. The Department of Meuse has therefore decided to react and build on the potential of digital technology to develop a new remote health model: an efficient and financially relevant offer, accessible at any point in the territory. The project includes a new organisation adapted to remote medicine, including a network of “mediators” interfaced between patients and deported digital tools; a new economic model that will finance mediators and medical tools deported by savings in travel and avoided hospitalisations; and technological tools for remote diagnosis, follow-up and consultation. This project aims to be ambitious and aims to address all the health challenges of the territory according to the available innovation offer and already include a group of innovative companies.
