The platform dedicated to Innovative Therapy Medicines of the Greater East Region was supported by the ERDF in 2018 to enable the implementation of funded cell engineering clinical research trials (2 national and 1 European trials). In addition to the construction and equipment of the premises for these activities, the first clinical trial authorisations were obtained from the ANSM. At the same time, anti-tumoral immunotherapy has benefited from considerable growth with the advent of genetically modified T-Lymphocytes to express an anti-tumor receptor (CAR-T-cells) and the Nancy CHRU has recently become a qualified centre in the Great East to offer Gilead CAR-T-cells to patients with lymphoid diseases B. The team 6 of the CNRS 7365 unit, led by Profs Rubio and Bensoussan, has obtained funding to develop in collaboration with Besançon translational research projects on CAR-T-cells and encouraged Dr. In the context of the creation of the GE’s MTI platform supported by the ERDF in 2018, and by a minor adaptation of the work initially planned to enable the production of gene therapy MTIs, the Nancy CHRU will put the Grand Est region in the capacity to produce academic CAR-T-Cells.
