Cycling network — Citadel sector — Aldilonda — Works

As part of the accessibility problem, the municipality develops a network of bike paths, pedestrians and people with reduced mobility in its territory in order to promote transport in a gentle mode. The master plan of cycle paths is structured around a soft waterfront lane to which penetrators connect. This project extends along the North-South axis and along its maritime fringe. In view of the importance of the work, a phased phase of the operation was established in 4 sectors: North area, old port, citadel and south. Thus, the northern section of the soft road has already been realised, it extends from the port of Toga to the wharf of martyrs. The city then realised the southern sector which stretches from the exit of the tunnel to the beach of the Arinella: U Spassimare inaugurated on 15 September 2018. With regard to the citadel sector, it is a question of a mixed route of bypass at the foot of the ramparts. Named “L’Aldilonda”, this balcony over the sea will overlook the cliffside coastline. The Aldilonda is a route that will cover about 480 m, allowing cyclists, pedestrians, and people with reduced mobility to travel along the path that will link the port of Toga to the Arinella. The structure will be connected to the future development of the old port and the southern sector (Spassimare).
