Regionally scale project, hydrological restoration of the Vaux marsh (130 ha, the largest mountain marsh in Bugey) consists of clearing 20 ha of wasteland areas, restoring 2 km of watercourses and filling the most impacting draining ditches (30 km of ditches identified to date). At the end of the work, the level of the table will be increased, the dynamics of scrubbing and the wetland will again be able to make the ecosystem services expected in an optimal way (retention and natural purification of water, etc.). Finally, a trail on stilts (about 1 km) will be installed to enhance this exceptional natural heritage thus restored.
