Sludge methanisation project, biogas production and injection recovery in the framework of the new Bourdary sewage treatment plant

The Bourdary union has decided to set up a system for the methanisation and energy recovery of its waste at the future treatment plant in the agglomeration of Aubenas (5 municipalities). This efficient plant will significantly reduce at source the volumes of waste generated by the station (about 30 %), which will reduce the environmental impact of the treatment of this waste transported by land in the Gard department. It will also allow the independent treatment of fats that currently require specific treatment in the department of Drôme. In addition, this project will enhance sludge and grease through the production of biogas. The latter will then be purified and purified in biomethane, in order to inject it into the public gas distribution network, making waste from the sewage treatment plant a source of renewable energy.
