The National Wildlife and Hunting Reserve of the Bauges is a natural area of great value in terms of the environments that make up it and the traditional uses present. More broadly, this reserve of approximately 5 200 ha. is part of the French network of protected areas and contributes to the preservation of biological diversity more broadly. Several species of heritage interest (Tétras-lyre, raptors, protected insects, ungulates...) are the subject of scientific studies and monitoring. In the end, it is 3 co-managers, including the Natural Park of the Bauges, who manage it, in particular with the desire to make known to the greatest number of people the richness of the places, its suitable habitats, its fauna, its flora as well as the traditional uses to be preserved (forestry, pastoralism, tourism...). The aim of the action “Discovery of the National Wildlife Reserve and Wild Hunt” is to promote this natural and cultural heritage through hiking by organising the reception in a comprehensive way and by bringing to knowledge the regulated gestures necessary to preserve this destination “Nature” par excellence.
