Dynamic carpooling experiments on the territory

Experimentation of a dynamic carpool line between Rochefort Montagne and Clermont Ferrand Centre, on RD 2089. This axis supports more than 5,000 vehicles per day with an average filling rate of 1.1 passengers. The main reason for this is the lack of a satisfactory public transport offer, with 2/3 of this axis outside the scope of the Urban Transport Plan. As part of the TEAMM approach, it has been noted with the territories to develop carpooling. The proposed solution proposes to place different terminals with a variable message display for motorists to indicate the presence of potential passengers, their destination and the amount of the allowance proposed. A digital smartphone solution is developed in parallel. In addition to the investment, significant resources will be devoted to the communication and promotion of this mechanism, but also to its regular evaluation in order to bring swift corrective measures and then to be able to deploy it to other sparsely populated areas.
