The Loire Department, owner of the Chalmazel Winter Sports and Recreation Station, carried out in 2013-2014 a prospective study for the development of the resort concluding a development scenario aimed at promoting its diversification “4 seasons”, scenario approved by the Departmental Assembly at the end of 2013. The project "Monts du Forez: the mountain to your dimension", led by Loire Forez Agglomération, was selected at the call for projects Massif central 2016 "Pôle de nature ": the Chalmazel Station is identified in this pole as one of the 3 sites of outdoor and outdoor activity practice in the Forez Mountains with a positioning focused on “sensations”. The Department wished to be accompanied by a contracting assistant for the implementation of the overall development scenario of the station and its diversification “4 seasons”: this AMO is one of the operations planned in the action plan of the full nature pole of the Forez Mountains.
