Development of the green road “Saint-Lizier/Prat-Bonrepaux”, a new Ariégeois section of the V81

The project promoter, the Conseil Départemental de l’Ariège committed in 2008 to a policy for the development of “Green Ways” from the network of old dismantled railways and presents the project for the development of a new section of the green road V81, between Saint-Lizier and Prat-Bonrepaux. The V81 is a new route connecting the Mediterranean to the Atlantic via the foothills. It crosses 6 Departments and 2 Regions, thus coordinating the development of the road and its tourism development. This new Ariegian section of the V81 will complement the previous developments in the west of the territory: from west to east, the section “St-Girons/Foix” and the section “Mirepoix/Camon”. The operation presented under the POI Pyrenees ERDF concerns the construction of the green road, on the section “Saint-Lizier/Prat-Bonrepaux” reserved exclusively for soft, non-motorised traffic (marcheurs, riders, cyclists and riders).
