Preparation of Citizens for Flooding by Simulation (PRECISION)

The PRECISION project proposes to get the citizen to discover, and play the time of flood crisis management, so that he regains a prominent place, that is, an act that is sensitised, informed and trained, during the time of the disaster. To this end, the aim is to provide the citizen with a (first) “experience” in flood crisis management in the municipal territory by means of simulation. This project therefore consists, first of all, of designing a simulator enabling citizens (including children) to assume the role of main actors involved in the municipal flood crisis management (mayor, technical services agents, prefect, etc.). This simulator is then used during animation days, where the realisation of flood stress tests by citizens (the flagship action of these days) is enriched by public meetings, video/audio reports of scientific popularisation. Thus, the PRECISION project brings together research partners, scientific production and culture organisations, environmental and sustainable development education associations and local and regional authorities to promote a comprehensive approach from scientific knowledge to the creation of a tool and concrete action on the ground and their dissemination to the greatest number.
