The main objective of the project is to support the competitiveness and growth of SMEs active in industry and extractive industries. Other important objectives that support the main objective and represent a broader strategic perspective are the promotion of sustainable development activities in the value chains of the processing of natural resources in Lapland and the activities of enterprises, as well as the strengthening of cluster cooperation at a cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary level between the actors in Lapland and at EU level. The measures set out in the work packages directly contribute to and support the objectives of the Lapland specialisation programme and the Lapland Agreement. The project and its measures have been prepared through broad-based cooperation between the Lappish actors, e.g. in several meetings of the network of mining operators, bilateral meetings and two workshops aimed at engaging partners in joint cluster development and matching development needs between regions, as well as synergies at the Lapland level in the project. The ultimate goal can be said to have been to obtain a social concession to the extent necessary to the project, so that the project can promote cooperation at the Lapland level on the way to the region on the way to the EU’s Cluster Strategy as well as to bring the best practices in the EU’s Cluster Strategy towards the EU as well as in the framework of the work, to bring Lappi’s best practices towards Lappi and the mutual value chain. Lapland’s service companies as well as mining and industrial operators benefit from Lapland’s image and contribute to the strengthening of the image. A strong andrecognised cluster of industrial and extractive service operators and stakeholders will also benefit and benefit the sustainable growth of the entire Barents region.
