6Time: Climate Street

Ilmastokatu — a pilot platform for climate-friendly solutions in the centre of Helsinki and Tikkurila in Vantaa will be set up in a street of climate-friendly solutions where companies and residents of the region will go with the city and climate partners to develop the centre of the future. The Climate Street aims at a low-carbon society and has adapted to the changing climate. Street serves as a testbed and reference area for companies’ new low-carbon products and services or operating models for both companies and the city. The project will allow companies to develop their services together with end-users. The aim of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the region in a way that benefits both residents, businesses and other actors in the area. The project combines business development and environmental responsibility in a way that is also visible to customers. This will increase the attractiveness, liveliness and comfort of the area. During the project, the City of Helsinki will carry out the renovation of IsoRoba, which includes various climate-wise and comfort-enhancing solutions. A new promenade will be built in the centre of Tikkurila in Vantaa and the renovation of the old part of Tikkurirait is also coming. In these areas, experiments are carried out both on the city’s own needs and on the needs of residents and businesses. Experiments must directly support the business of companies.
