Southeast Film Commission

The aim of the project is to create a wide-ranging economic sector of audiovisual productions in the Kotka-Hamina region, based on a new revenue logic, which employs year-round services (trade, restaurants, etc.) and tourism and audiovisual production by launching the Kaako Film Commission, which works in close cooperation with local companies and national and international stakeholders. The project will implement 1. Operating and financing models of the South East Film Commission 2. Cluster for Service Production 3. Development of communications and sales a) general marketing b) location service. As a result of the project, the Kaako Film Commission is a well-established regional business that is convincing, professional and well-organised. The South-Eastern Film Commission creates new business conditions for creative enterprises operating in the 1st region in the 2nd region for service enterprises operating in the 3 rd region. A network of business services (cluster) will be created in the region, which will create the conditions for the establishment of new companies in the region and for the expansion of existing businesses and the cost-effective implementation of film and TV productions. The region carries out at least one long-term TV or film production every year and several (2-5) shorter. New film and TV-tourism concepts have emerged in the region, where service companies operating in the region use the content of productions carried out in the region in their own business products. Qualitative EU-based Kaakon Film Commission, which coordinates regional funding for productions and acts as a co-ordinator in the implementation of productions. The new business sector will increase the attractiveness of the region, improve the target audience services, increase the turnover and employment of enterprises and establish new enterprises in the region.
