ABC-Active Business Cluster for export

The aim of this project is to bring together the best resources in Central Ostrobothnia in terms of major international projects and export promotion, to gather contacts and relevant information about ongoing and near-future projects, project and customer needs, to act as an active network for companies in new market areas and major projects, and to open up doors to Central Ostrobothnia companies for international investment billions of tenders. The project also aims to promote the emergence of various forms of business networks, which also opens up opportunities for SMEs to participate in tenders for larger entities. The aim of the ABC project is to facilitate access to investments and major projects in the Arctic and elsewhere. The project also aims to raise awareness in Central Ostrobothnia of major projects in the Arctic region, other international and national major projects, projects, customers and to collect both market and project knowledge. The main actions of the project are:- international marketing information acquisition (major projects, investments, open tenders); projects, schedules, designers, customers, the right type and size of partners, contact persons, etc.- sharing the information collected; Road Show-type tours, seminars, etc., where appropriate, information sharing by e-mail to collaborators and participating companies/business networks- organising business trips to investment destinations and market areas; “Fact Finding”-type trips to a larger group of companies, more focused and tailored marketing trips with a small group of companies, other business-appropriate seminars, fairs, conferences, etc.- import potential customers/partnerships to Finland; as a seminar guest, lecturer, head of Match Making, trade fair rapporteur, etc.- working on joint marketing materials; by sector, by type of investment, or otherwise organised depending on the need (e.g. a “tech companies for the mining industry”/type compendium or an “Industrial Services” type brochure according to the Kokkola model)- increasing and promoting the visibility of Finnish and Central Ostrobothnian companies in the Arctic and other international arenas, related investment sites and in the eyes of their customers and investors; participation in seminars, conferences, etc. on behalf of Northern Finland, distribution of marketing material at these events and its delivery to selected sites, visibility in Arctic media in the form of articles, interviews, reports, etc.- facilitating business networking; facilitating the formation of export networks, organising networking events, increasing networking breaks in other events- sparring companies interested in opportunities in the Arctic and international markets (however, the company development itself takes place through partners and, for example, more detailed regional projects, etc.)Although the project is generally unable to influence the creation of the trade itself, the aim is to contribute to the creation of EUR 30 million of new realised trades (most of which export trade) to the Central Ostrobothnia companies during the project. If implemented, mainly export projects worth EUR 30 million will directly benefit both traded companies and business networks as well as their local subcontracting networks. As a result, the benefits are distributed to the region and businesses in terms of export revenues, GDP growth, jobs and, consequently, an increase in purchasing power.
