Investment project for smart mobility in the Kuopio region

The aim of the project is to increase the use of sustainable modes of transport (public transport, walking, cycling) in the Kuopio city area with the help of easily accessible information and new and easy-to-use services. The target groups are residents of the region, small and medium-sized enterprises and employees, students and schoolchildren, as well as business and leisure travellers moving in the area. The aim is to engage people to move wisely and to involve residents and businesses in the provision of services. The investment project involves the development of a smart mobility model for the Kuopio region (a separate ERDF application). The concrete objectives of the project are:- The business opportunities of SMEs in the region will be improved by the resulting smart mobility solutions and applications.- The attractiveness of the SMEs participating in the project as a partner and employer increases due to their environmentally responsible image. train and air traffic, cycling and walking, passenger car traffic) and parking (customer and access parking) and information can be obtained at different stages of the journey.- The information to be provided is up-to-date and reliable.- The services are accessible. The investment project measures consist of three sets of projects (the number in the lock describes the number used in the attached implementation programme):- project package 1: customer-oriented information on public transport, cycling and parking (project 1 in the report) — Project 2: intelligent urban bike system (projects 2a and 2b in the report) — project package 3: mobility as a service (MaaS), new payment methods, apps applications (project 5 in the report)Projects 1 to 3 form a common set of support for each other. For example, the intelligent city bike system is part of the public transport system, and the information system of the city bike system enables the provision of business and transport services to customers. The information platform created in Project 1 provides companies with unlimited opportunities to create and implement various services. Project blocks 1 and 2 enable MaaS services and apps. The project will result in services that will remain in use at the end of the project. This will provide SMEs with the necessary certainty of business continuity and increase the courage to invest in the development and implementation of new services. Maas operators and companies can combine and package transport services with their own products and services. The project will develop concepts and approaches that can be used at a later stage. The objective is that the open digital information platform developed during the project will create its own developer community.
