6TIMES: Open Participation and Client Project

The Open Participation and Customership project is part of the implementation of the 6time — Open and Smart Services Strategy, in which all the six largest cities in Finland (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere, Turku and Oulu) participate. 6The time strategy is divided into three priority areas and a number of key projects: Open Innovation Platforms, Open Data and Open Participation and Client. The objective of the Open Inclusion and Client Project is to strengthen the role of business and research and development communities in the service ecosystem. The project also aims to increase customer orientation, enable new types of markets, improve the effectiveness of services, increase productivity and strengthen competitiveness. The result of the project is a new model in which companies, the city, the third sector and research and development units jointly develop new kinds of service packages and innovations. Through the development partnerships, new opportunities for expert services and customer relationships are created for companies and research and development communities, and thus for new types of business. The development work carried out in the project is carried out in the form of work packages that follow themes of the right services, for the right customers, in the right ways. The right services work package develops and tests methods to enable customers to participate in the design and use of services, develop collaborative management models and promote interaction between service developers and local residents. For the right customers, the work package consists of identifying customer relationships, segmenting and evaluating the volume of customer needs, for example by developing the customer relationship management model and service guidance. The goal of the right way work package is to create a functional multi-channel and multiproducer customer service model. In the model, the production of services forms a whole in which the producers are enterprises and the third sector together with the municipal sector and other public actors. The project will deepen cooperation between the six largest cities and create new ways of combining the knowledge of urban areas. The close partnership will create new innovation environments and market areas that foster the competitiveness of urban areas.
