The aim of the project is to harmonise the activities of promoting tourism investment with a new operating method, utilising the expertise and operating models and processes acquired during the tourism investment projects previously carried out in Kymenlaakso. The aim is to create and implement a coherent operating model, a service-shaped concept, which will enable the region to develop a diverse and attractive tourism infrastructure to create the conditions for significant economic growth, internationalisation and development of know-how in the tourism industry. Successful acquisition of foreign investment requires a business environment that encourages entrepreneurship, active promotion by various means, up-to-date strategic policies and a business-friendly image of the province. The aim of the project is to improve the image of Kymenlaakso Province and to promote a business-friendly climate. The project aims to respond to the objectives of the Structural Funds programme for sustainable growth and work 2014-2020 and to the specific objective set by the Kymenlaakso Association (1.1.) to improve investment conditions and create growth in the tourism industry, as well as to support the region’s survival of structural change. The promotion of investment in tourism creates real opportunities for significant growth and employment in the services sector. As a result of the project measures, Kymenlaakso is known as an easily accessible tourism area where investments are profitable. The underlying information provided to make the investments is professional, reliable and up-to-date. The studies, plans and analyses carried out provide a basis for more precise plans to start negotiations with operators and investors. The process-based promotion measures implemented for investments create a clear competitive advantage for Kymenlaakso compared to the other provinces of the country, and together with the measures of the investment promotion project Kymenlaakso create a synchronised whole.
