TEKNO2015

The project is based on the Technology Transfer 2015 project carried out by Ketek Oy, which has developed a service concept model for the development of technology for manufacturing enterprises, which supports and enables rapid and cost-effective growth and risk management of growth-oriented companies. The service card model is based on a 5 s model based on thinking. The technology industry in Central Ostrobothnia is divided into four main parts: metal and engineering workshop, construction and technical service, and boat industry. The majority of metal and engineering companies are subcontractors to the regional and national process industry or to Infra. A few companies have their own product packages, which they successfully market internationally. It is also illustrated by companies’ own leading knowledge and readiness to operate in demanding conditions in large industries, which often raises companies to a very high level also in international comparisons. The aim of the project is to strengthen RDI activities, to increase and productise the processing stage and to strengthen networks into clusters. The aim is also to increase companies’ ICT usage, internationality, safety and maintenance, and possibly to create and develop new business. In the future, especially the metal and technology industries are under adjustment pressure. Products are becoming more intelligent and technology is evolving. If the sub-contracting companies in the region are involved in this development, new growth companies may emerge in this area. The measures of the project include 100 companies and interviews and a service card model help companies to recognise technological development needs and to be involved in the development of quality and processes, as well as in the improvement of manufacturing processes. The search for new technology solutions and the dissemination of information to businesses are essential to improve the competitiveness of SMEs. Digitalisation and exploiting the potential of the industrial internet in subcontracting processes are constantly increasing and SMEs in the region need to be able to build the capacity to be involved in these processes.
