Energy efficiency and district-specific energy production will increase Cleantech business

At European level, the building sector uses 40 % of total energy consumption and buildings account for 36 % of greenhouse gas emissions. New regional energy production solutions, together with energy efficiency measures, will enable CO2 emissions from buildings and regions to be reduced. The project explores the cutting edges of energy efficiency and cleantech expertise in the cooperation area and produces electronic marketing and communication materials supporting industry operators. The aim is to promote the business and internationalisation of companies. Companies are involved in the project, including through the NIA (Nordic Innovation Accelerator) platform. The project will bring together a wide range of energy and cleantech companies, public authorities, research and training organisations and other stakeholders to design energy efficient and residential energy solutions for the three target areas. The target areas are at different planning stages and have different requirements and needs that need to be taken into account in the design process. Through energy analysis, emission modelling and cost analysis, a trajectory is established for all regions. During the project, companies and other stakeholders will be invited to participate in three Future Workshops where prospective research methods will build alternative scenarios and support the design of energy-efficient regions and the creation of sustainable strategies.
