Laff Lahti Fringe Festival

Lahti Fringe Festival project builds a year-round event concept and service model for the production and development of urban cultural events in Lahti and strengthens Lahti’s urban cultural identity and brand in a citizen- and operator-oriented way. The aim of the project is to build an event concept for a network-like urban culture event that can be activated repeatedly and efficiently throughout the year and which is easy to join by those who want to participate in different interests. These include the authors of events, companies, the public, i.e. citizens and city organisations. The aim of the project is to increase the cooperation and civic participation of actors in the region in the development of Lahti’s event and urban culture, and to make citizens-centred free art and urban street and block events a strong part of the year-round event activities in Lahti. The event concept can be used in the production of new entities supporting urban culture and it brands Lahti as an urban and rough event city. The aim of the project is to create an opportunity for large-scale growth and appreciation of urban cultural events. 2. Service modelThe service model enables smooth cooperation from the point of view of the event producer, the enabler (city), the participant (the audience), the entrepreneur, the student and the volunteer. The focus is on sharing culture and lending, as well as strong local production support your local ideology through the process. The service model puts local talent and producers at the centre, thus increasing sharing and pride in their own regional skills. In the service model, the licensing service and production planning are brought to a new level with the help of low threshold, ease and electronic services. Supporting and enabling the production of urban events rises to a level where the urban environment gives space to the event to become part of everyday life.3. Lahti Fringe Festival-pilotService model will be piloted by implementing the first Lahti Fringe Festival event. Lahti Fringe Festival gathers the productions of different event organisers under the same umbrella for about 4 days. The event will enliven the city centre and activate local residents to participate in a large cultural event, where everyone would find a touching, pleasant experience. The pilot is a common effort for cultural people, event actors, venues, venues and industry, to which the city opens doors to everyone. It serves as a showcase for Lahti and Lahti operators and their national and international networks. Lahti Fringe Festival is part of the Nordic Fringe Festival network and is also open to international performers. The project will help to diversify Lahti’s event offering through a year-round event concept and network-like event cooperation. The expertise of art and cultural operators, event organisers, companies and organisations will be strengthened and the services related to the production of the event will be developed into a single service package that facilitates the customer and service provider. In addition, the Lahti region will receive a new internationally networked urban event for free art and culture, which will take shape and expansion every year.
