The challenges to the well-being and health of the population are great, but they can be addressed by preventive welfare services. New welfare services are increasingly based on digitality, but there are still many development needs in applying data as value-added services to the customer.Saimaa Stadiumi is a significant investment in promoting the well-being of the South Savo province. Saimaa Stadiumi consists of a business managed by Saimaa Stadiumi Oy (e.g. a sports hall, gym and services managed by Saimaa Stadiumi Oy), and a Smart Wellbeing Laboratory for the RDI activities of the South East Finland University of Applied Sciences (under XAMK, independent research laboratory of Saimaa Stadiumi Oy). The aim of this project is to implement the investments required by the Smart Welfare Laboratory. The smart wellbeing laboratory will enable customer-oriented development based on well-being data in the future. The laboratory consists of equipment located in physical premises and wearable technology in different environments. The laboratory and its data architecture also serve as a nerve center for data collected from other sources. The actual development activities will be launched in the Datasta project on welfare and health promotion services (application number 303855). The project will make the investments required by the development environment, i.e. the purchase of machinery and equipment, and build the information systems required as a purchasing service to enable the collection, archiving and aggregation of data. The leading idea in procurement is that as many devices as possible can access digital information that can be combined and used in research and development of new services. In addition to development activities, the investments in the Wellbeing Lab can be used as a learning environment in the education of the Southeastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. The project has resulted in the planned equipment and technology investments of the smart wellbeing laboratory and a data architecture that enables data collection and utilisation. The result is a ready-to-use infrastructure for the development of the wellbeing sector.
