Biolit

The aim of the project is to promote innovation in the bio- and circular economy. The aim of the project is to continue building biorefinery concepts and building business consortia based on expert studies and business surveys. Other measures to increase the bioeconomy and the promotion of renewable energy will also be developed. In addition, the project investigates the location of battery chemical processing activities in the area and the research, development and investment investments it requires. In addition to these large projects, the project will identify bio-, cleantech and energy companies from Kokkola, as well as other SMEs (e.g. providing industrial services) and aim to promote their product and development solutions that are ecological, low-carbon and sustainable. The project prepares companies on these issues and informs companies and the city about new solutions to the bio- and circular economy, for example by organising events and using different communication channels. The project also aims to promote the environmental integrity and solutions of public procurement.
