The purpose of the project is to implement communications related to wood construction and to provide information produced by various actors to promote wood and sustainable construction. The project produces information on the potential of wood construction and effective measures to increase the volume of wood as a building material. The aim is to develop business operations and start new companies in the province of Lapland and to utilise renewable natural resources and carbon-neutral circular economy solutions in the Province of Lapland with the contribution of the industrial circular economy innovation platform led by Kemin Digipolis Oy. Construction requires solutions that are not based on wasteful use of natural resources, as is the case with construction at global level. The project focuses on highlighting the potential of wood construction as a sustainable, low-carbon alternative to construction and as part of the activities of the sustainable construction cluster. The project highlights the energy and material efficiency of wood construction, production processes, operating models and products’ t&k&i and business operations that reduce climate impacts. In particular, these actions will support the competitiveness of SMEs, inter alia by enabling the introduction of new environmentally friendly and more energy-efficient technologies and innovations in their operations, as well as a low-carbon, sustainable environmental business.
