The growth of the Asian market and the importance of the Arctic region for Asia create new opportunities also for marine companies, serving Asian operators in the domestic region and in the Asian export markets. The aim of the project is to improve the capacity of SMEs in the Meri-Lappi region for new business operations and to build cooperation with Asian actors and networks. The special focus of the project is the circular economy of industry and the bioeconomy, as there are already cooperation networks in these themes for companies in the region, the City of Kemi, Lapland University of Applied Sciences and Digipolis Oy. As measures, the project will provide information on the business culture, operating methods and business opportunities in Asia, and especially in China, for small and medium-sized enterprises in maritime Lapland, as well as networking platforms to create contacts. As a result of the project — a better understanding of the Asian business culture and business capacity of SMEs in the Asian market-increase the capacity of marine SMEs to serve customers from Asia — improving the conditions for educational exports, with a particular focus on the industrial circular economy, and training cooperation between the Meri-Lappi region and Asia-Enhancing the capacity of the sea-lapiers to carry out joint projects and pilots, in particular in the circular economy — the conditions for developing industrial tourism and diversifying the supply of tourists;
