Safety is the top priority for industry, because a safe operating environment is extremely important for staff and business continuity. While significant investments in safety have been made, especially in large industrial enterprises, continuous improvement and new perspectives are needed as technologies develop, production automation and staff expectations and working practices evolve. The corporate security package is also built through various stakeholders. Companies have a wide range of partnerships, subcontracting networks and authorities. An important preparation for threats is that cooperation practices across organisational boundaries are also workable and smooth. Company-specific resources for development are often limited and therefore the importance of expert networks is emphasised as development platforms. Opportunities must be created for the sharing of information and for joint development. The aim of the project is to develop business safety know-how, innovation and new operating practices in Satakunta. Through the operation of the networks to be activated by the project, business security will be improved and new ways of working will be created. The project will develop both business-to-business networks and cooperation with different experts and authorities. The aim of the project is to develop business security, new operational practices and culture in Satakunta, as well as to increase capabilities, e.g. against cyber threats, and to promote the use of digital as part of security management. The project will result in new operational practices, preparedness and recovery from various threats. The corporate safety development programme is implemented in cooperation between Prizztech Oy, the Pori unit of the University of Tampere and the Western Finland Rescue Exercise Foundation. The knowledge capital and networks of the three actors will not only be used to implement the project, but also a wide network of experts and public authorities on the different themes of security will be involved in the project’s activities. Companies are offered an extensive network of ideas, development and sharing of know-how to promote safety. The project’s concrete measures include workshops, networking events, simoling, exercises and mapping to increase safety management, security culture, practices of cooperation between authorities, digital solutions and cybersecurity. In addition, a major seminar-type event will be organised during the project, which will also attract national interest. The objective of the project is to develop industrial competitiveness, continuity and productivity through good safety awareness and culture. Safety awareness is growing and digital solutions become part of the maintenance of safety culture. The project will contribute to the creation of a centre of expertise on security in Satakunta.
