Learning and testing environments for the future of physical activity and sport

The aim of the Learning and Testing Environments in the Concentration of Sport in the Future is to invest in the area of physical testing and skills training to be built in the Lapland region, which will contribute to the development of the area’s physical and sporting environments. Testing, physical activity and well-being, as well as skill coaching, are emerging sectors and are also internationally attractive. This laboratory building and investment package runs in parallel with the ESF-funded project “Skills4Life — Skills for Life”, which is currently underway. The project will update existing sport and physical activity infrastructure to meet the needs of the 2020s and the future. The thematic selection for skills training and competence in the field is based on the national division of labour. The development also supports sports tourism in the region.
