The effects of the COVID-19 crisis also hit mobility and transport in societies. The pandemic has required many reorganisations of the available state of movement and its forms. This rapid change, combined with the development trends in mobility, also creates new needs for traffic data, while creating opportunities for new business and service innovations. The aim of the LiiDi2 project is to increase the responsiveness of cities to the challenges of change in mobility and transport by creating a framework for the development of mobility innovations and new technologies, thereby widening the range of services available and improving the level and spectrum of transport and transport for citizens and businesses. To achieve these objectives, the project will develop new forms of data collection and procurement, as well as more efficient use, further processing and integration of datasets in the digital urban environment. The project focuses on co-development, domestic and foreign networking, as well as transparency and expansion of results. The project will open up new business, RDI cooperation and service innovation opportunities also for new digital talent. The development of a digital twin in transport and new data collection models are enablers for the emergence of a new business. Innovative and dynamic procurement processes must also be developed for the acquisition of data in an agile manner. The goal is a successful practical experience in the procurement of data enriching the digital twin in transport, which can be extended to other procurement sites and cities. The project will have a long-term impact on new transport services, facilitate the use of data, expand the uptake of innovative procurement models and lay the groundwork for a new data ecosystem, improving the level of service in urban mobility and transport, and strengthening the resilience and ability of cities to respond to sudden changes. The project supports well the Uusimaa Regional Resilience Plan (2020-2023), the Smart Specialisation Strategy and the Baltic Sea Strategy by contributing to the emergence of new business and market potential and, in the longer term, by increasing national and international effectiveness. The project will accelerate the emergence of innovative data-based solutions to facilitate mobility and traffic in the region. In addition, LiiDi2 supports the carbon neutrality objectives of Helsinki and several other towns of Uusimaa and the objectives of promoting digitalisation. The project’s horizontal principles emphasise the development of new carbon-neutral service solutions, at the same time promoting low-carbon mobility and improved logistics. Up-to-date traffic information can also be used to influence traffic flows and traffic flows, and thus to create decisions and solutions that support carbon neutrality in particular. According to the Helsinki City Strategy, gender equality must be a cross-cutting principle in all city activities. Among other things, the project raises interesting female speakers at the events organised by the project, thereby increasing women’s interest in the field and producing solutions.
