The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity and inclusion of those at risk of exclusion, in particular young people, the long-term unemployed and drug addicts, using nature-based methods. The aim is to create individual and group-based models of inclusion and functional rehabilitation. The aim is to produce development information on nature-based application of methods in strengthening inclusion and rehabilitation. The project will be implemented by the Lapland University of Applied Sciences, the eduro Foundation from Rovaniemi, the city of Kemijärvi and the youth work of the municipality of Salla. The project participants will familiarise themselves with Green Care activities and the model of individual-centred life planning. The participants test Green Care methods in different natural environments according to the needs of the participants. Based on the experiments, Green Care approaches will be created to strengthen operational capacity and inclusion. The participants are mainly women and men under the age of 29, who do not have access to a social inclusion service that is appropriate to their specific situation and/or available in the service system. The target groups are also men and women over the age of 29 who are at risk of social exclusion due to their mental health and substance abuse problems or long-term unemployment. The project will result in individual and group rehabilitation models using Green Care methods, the “wallless workshop in the nature environment” approach, the model for utilising nature expertise and development information on the application of Green Care methods in social rehabilitation.
