The aim of the project is to develop companies in the region in a holistic way and to find ways to make them agile and competitive. ‘frontier companies’. The project strengthens, among other things, the business competence of key personnel, the management of staff and well-being at work. The project’s measures will contribute significantly to the productivity of work and support the “Working Life 2020” programme where applicable. The project supports the region’s well-being by helping companies in the Oulu region to grow, create new jobs and increase exports to international markets. The aim of the project is to further develop training, guidance, counselling and expert services that improve well-being at work, strengthen peer learning and networking, and develop and strengthen operating models and services that promote well-being at work and endurance at work, paying particular attention to coping with the work of older people, developing and disseminating management and work organisation operating models that promote the renewal and competitiveness of companies and work organisations, strengthening the adaptability and competitiveness of entrepreneurs and employees, skills, innovation capacity and developing better management of change situations. The project is implemented through coaching, workshops, events organised on topical topics and company-specific expert services. Special attention is paid to developing sales expertise and increasing internationalisation and export activities. The project supports the implementation of the Oulu region’s Accelerator Programme and, where applicable, the Protomo project and the Make a Living project, as well as cooperation with the Oulu Innovation Alliance. The target group of the project is primarily persons and teams planning the creation of innovative companies, the region’s most promising start-ups and their personnel, as well as SMEs and their staff seeking growth and internationalisation.
