The aim of the project is to increase the understanding of small and medium-sized growth companies and growth-oriented start-ups of the importance of human resource management as part of the company’s target-oriented operations. The project will increase the capacity of companies to develop their own human resource management methods, taking into account their operating environment. The rationale behind the development of the human resource management of small and medium-sized growth companies is that the growth phase often requires agility of companies’ human resources management, i.e. fast and changing, linked to the company’s objectives. Agile policies support collaboration, people’s learning, creativity and the ability to develop and innovate. Information on the use of agile methods in small and medium-sized enterprises is limited, but the results are very promising. The needs for the project arise from the wishes and experiences of small and medium-sized growth companies themselves. The project consists of three parts:1. The project will compile information on the principles, solutions and practices of human resource management in growth companies: we collect interview data from already experienced companies in the growth phase and analyse ready-made data describing growth companies’ operations 2. Five companies in the growth phase (6-53 persons) will pilot the principles, solutions and practices of human resource management in the first phase, tailored to their needs. The development of human resources management is carried out with the involvement of personnel, taking into account the operating environment and as part of the planned development of the company. 3. Information about the agile human resource management principles, solutions and practices used by growth companies, which have been modified and applied through piloting, is passed on to small and medium-sized growth companies and growth-oriented start-ups around Finland in development workshops and networks. Support for the launch of the network will be offered through community-managerisation. The project will be actively communicated through the project. Communication uses a wide range of publishing methods and channels to reach different target groups. The project cooperates with regional development companies in the development of business know-how. Regional development workshops are organised in cooperation with the ELY Centres. Information on the results is disseminated in cooperation with the ELY Centres, business associations and other key actors. The objectives of gender equality, equality and sustainable development will be implemented in the various phases of the project. The project supports the strengthening of the business structure nationwide. We pay attention to the development of well-being at work as part of the operations of growth companies. Well-being at work is an important value of working life, which can be used as a basis for sustainable business operations.
