The Growth Path of Excellence model

The aim of the project is to achieve the Growth Path of Excellence and the training and induction of staff in the joint phase of the studies. Top professionals in working life are people who are idea-rich and innovative, practical and multi-skilled. The transition of students from education to work needs to be speeded up and the work-life orientation of VET needs to be increased. This requires closer cooperation between primary, secondary and higher education. At the same time, mobility between the labour market and education needs to be increased. The aim of the project is to create a pathway to excellence — a model in which students can move smoothly from primary school to secondary school, from secondary to higher education and from tertiary level to work without falling outside the education system and without spending so-called intermediate years between school levels. In the Growth Path of Excellence model, students can complete a basic vocational degree and a polytechnic degree smoothly in 5-6 years. Through the current state analysis, overlaps are removed from the educational path and the overlapping of studies is ensured. In the course of the project, a common learning environment will be envisaged in which cross-studying is possible. Companies in the sector are applied for as training partner companies. Comprehensive school pupils are offered new types of TET-days.The project focuses on wood products in the bioeconomy sector. The goal is that the Growth Path of Excellence model is documented in such a way that it can be replicated to other fields of education and organisations. As a result of the coaching and networking of the staff in the joint stages of the studies, cooperation between educational institutions and enterprises will increase and intensify. Current guidance practices do not sufficiently support a smooth transition along the learning path. The problem with a smooth study path is, for example, the large number of early leavers from secondary education and early school leavers, as well as unclear guidance responsibilities. The aim of the coaching is to increase the guidance and substance skills of the guidance personnel. The project designs and pilots coaching teachers, instructors and specialists in the bioeconomy sector in the joint phases. The guidance staff’s awareness of the guidance practices will be supplemented and interactions will be made possible and networking will increase.
