Youth House Ohjaamo

The Youth House Ohjaamo is a low-threshold service centre, where young people get the guidance and support they need. By centralising services, new customer-oriented approaches are developed for the interfaces of service systems. Thanks to the multifunctional low-threshold guidance service, the guidance is timely, inclusive and smooth, which increases the well-being of young people and prevents the need for long service processes. The main objective of the Youth House Ohjaamo project is to design, model and consolidate the multi-professional and administrative Nuorten House Ohjaamo activities in Tampere. The services offered will be developed in such a way that the multidisciplinary services that are essential for young people’s life are available in a service window, in accordance with the single door principle. At the heart of the development of service offerings are young people’s own needs and wishes about the content of the services. The project develops low-threshold group activities according to customer needs, together with basic services and other parties involved in the activities of the house. With the help of marketing, young people and those who direct young people become more aware of the house’s activities, as a result of which a larger customer group will find the house. The flow of information between different actors and entities is made easy and seamless so that professionals have the necessary information at their disposal in customer service situations.Youth House Ohjaamo’s service model will be developed in cooperation with those involved in the municipal experiment in the Tampere urban area and employment management. During the project, a basis will also be established for the regional Ohjaamo activity in the whole province. The development of pop-up activities focuses on bringing information to where young people move. With the help of the project, Youth House Ohjaamo has become a service hub known to young people, those who direct young people and stakeholders. Young people receive comprehensive support and guidance from the house in accordance with their needs as an individual and group service. The opportunities and needs for the distribution of the model of the Ohjaamo service model have been studied in the city area of Tampere and experimented in different municipalities. The project has provided solutions to prevent the exclusion of young people, to better reach and guide them to services, to develop working life skills and to speed up employment.
