Power, power and networks for female entrepreneurship

The aim of the project is to promote women’s employment and business activities by supporting the capacity of women entrepreneurs in the Päijät and Kanta-Häme region to develop and grow their business. The aim of the project is to promote the growth of female entrepreneurship and to support the process of female entrepreneurship and to develop women’s business activities. Business growth will contribute to the elimination of differences in entrepreneurship between female and male entrepreneurs and to gender segregation in entrepreneurship. The goal is a more equal business life. The project will thus contribute to reducing the gender gap in entrepreneurship and to promoting gender equality in the world of work. The project pilots operating models based on social networks and network work, which support the development of the growth appetite of women-driven micro and small and medium-sized enterprises in Kanta and Päijät-Häme. The models to be piloted in the project are:1) The catalyst, i.e. advisory and guidance service to support business development for women owned and run by women 2) a technology-oriented development/coaching process for women entrepreneurs willing to growPilotti’s implementation utilises the activities and expertise of business development experts, equal working life and female entrepreneurship experts and regional networks. The project, which is carried out by the University of Applied Sciences and Lahti University of Applied Sciences in trans-regional cooperation, also provides entrepreneurs with a pathway to cooperate with students and thus gain more social capital, ideas and resources to develop and expand their business. As a result of the project, women entrepreneurs in Kanta- and Päijät-Häme region are able to make better use of business development expert networks and the services they provide in developing, managing and renewing their own business operations. The models piloted in the project will be integrated into the business cooperation services of universities of applied sciences. During the project, the networking of experts participating in the pilots has also strengthened and knowledge of the future development needs of female-driven companies has increased
