The aim of the project is to modernise jobs in SMEs and micro-enterprises in order to respond to the tightening of international trade conditions and the demands of major projects in the region. The project will help companies in the region to adopt improved management systems and modernised operating models. In this way, the project promotes the well-being and profitability of companies through clearer processes and responsibilities. The project measures consist of coaching, group workshops and company-specific development tailored to the target group. As a result of the project, 50 companies will introduce new management systems and improvements to existing operating models so that the company’s resources, responsibilities, powers, job descriptions, processes, communication and services promote well-being at work and skills. In addition to well-being at work, profitability is improved through greater clarity and efficiency of operations. The indirect results of the project have resulted in improved opportunities for companies to participate in international tenders and supply chains, with a high level of expertise for small enterprises in the region. In addition, the opportunities for growth and development of companies have improved. The project will change the mindsets and culture of companies to promote well-being at work. Well-being at work is the result of ensuring that resources, responsibilities, powers, job descriptions, processes, communication and services are in place. The project’s implementation focuses on the root causes of well-being at work, i.e. systematic development of management systems and operations. In the planned implementation, the employees of the companies will be actively involved in the development work and seek clarity in making and communicating. The project will be implemented by the City of Kalajoki/Kalajoki Region Business Services Centre and Raahe City/Raahe Region Business Services. The project is industry-independent.
