The project will develop a 365/12 model from a VET institution where learning is always possible regardless of time and place. The content of the model can be summed up in three words: faster, better, agile. The new model will allow for faster learning and transition to work, as well as an immediate response to new situations. In addition, the model enhances cooperation with companies, with the aim of creating new innovations and business ideas. In order to achieve this, the project develops a variety of physical and virtual learning environments in which students and working life meet more easily, and where learning is a smooth continuum according to personal plans. Through new learning environments, the project will also help to create a new sense of community that is needed when, through more individual choices, old static communities lose their relevance.365/12 model consists of the following cutting edges: •Enterprise-education cooperation as a creator of new innovations and business ideas •Entrepreneurship as a strong part of the studies •The multidisciplinary study paths that form part of the needs of working life •virtual and digital studies as part of learning •Knowledge centres to support study guidance and teaching methods •The development of on-the-job learning and guidance through digital tools; companies belonging to the real target group of the project; companies and practices for the provision of new care; and project management organisations; third-sector actors and implementing models. From a gender perspective, for example, under-representation of girls in entrepreneurship studies and higher early school leaving for boys have emerged. With regard to sustainable development, the project supports, for example, the diversity of the local economic structure by developing cooperation between vocational education and training, working life and enterprises. The project starts on 1 December 2017 and ends on 31 May 2020 in the form of a national cooperation involving the City of Turku’s cultural industry, the Espoo Region Education Municipality Association Omnia, the Tampere Region Vocational College Tredu and the Oulu Region Education Association OSEKK.
