The objective of the Open Vocational Studies project is to find out what the widespread implementation of the Open Vocational Studies service (www.avoimetammatillisetopinnot.fi) developed in the AAVA project in 2015-18 requires by testing the implementation of the service in a large partnership network of VET institutions. The aim is to develop a service to enable the completion of joint and vocational qualifications, and to develop and test the operating models and forms of cooperation that support the deployment of the service in order to enable smooth transitions. Testing the implementation of the Open Vocational Studies service will be carried out by pilot organisations representing a comprehensive empire. Deployment experience instructors — organisations that have developed and implemented the service concept in the AAVA project. As part of the development of customer-oriented digital personalisation services, such as eHOKS, all implementing organisations develop operating methods that support the deployment of the service together. The project’s measures to determine the conditions for the national deployment of the Open Vocational Studies service will be carried out under the following themes: — Testing and expanding the implementation of the Open Vocational Studies service- Developing a service for the effectiveness of the open vocational studies service and the conditions for a wide national introduction- The nationwide marketing and dissemination of open vocational studies — development of operating models and forms of cooperation using the Open Vocational Studies service- Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Open Vocational Studies service and the conditions for widespread national implementation-The nationwide marketing and dissemination of the Open Vocational Studies service results in the development of the open professional studies and of the pilot service. As a result, young people and adults across Finland have better opportunities to acquire the skills needed for studies and working life in a flexible way by completing studies open to all and moving forward smoothly on their own study path. Educational institutions, for their part, have more diversified means to support the personalisation of graduates and the implementation of individual study paths in practice. The organisations implementing the project starting on 1 April 2018 and ending on 31 July 2020 are the City of Turku’s cultural industry (managing organisation), the Salpaus Municipality Association of Education Centre, the West Coast Educational Education oy WinNova, the Oulu Region Vocational College OSAO, the North Karelian Association of Education Municipalities Riveria, the Salo Regional Vocational College and Varia Vocational College of Vantaa.
