Effective in working life

Effectively for working life, the project develops a national service package that provides higher education students with services that help students find and find internships and jobs and promote students’ readiness to market their skills to employers. Employers will be made aware of the skills of higher education students through the services and create operating models for cooperation between employers. Instructors and the like in higher education and secondary education can benefit from the services in their own guidance. Working life and its cooperation projects (e.g. higher education and working life, the growth path of Excellence, KILKAS — Competitiveness and growth in order to promote the employment of foreign polytechnic students, and Verkkovirta — the study of work as a network collaboration) investigate different aspects of ways of promoting employment and create materials related to career guidance. The “Efficiently Workplaces” project collects and utilises these results and puts the services and models created by the projects efficiently into work-related services.Employer surveys, company dates and network meetings identify employers’ needs and expectations for the employment of students, while sharing information on the competence of polytechnic students. The results of the surveys, as well as the needs and expectations of employers identified during business dates and network meetings, are effectively utilised when designing and designing services for working life. For students and graduating graduates, the efficient working life service size offers help and guidance not only in job search but also in identifying and highlighting your own skills, career guidance and finding different employment options, as well as working abroad. For example, the project creates an online study period for all universities of applied sciences as a jobseeker, which opens up all channels of job search to students’ awareness, especially through social media. The course will be conducted in bilingual form, providing foreign-language students with tailor-made job search channels. As a jobseeker, the online course also improves the employment opportunities of different learners. The course consists of different sections such as different job search channels, work life information, job search process, entrepreneurship, work abroad, career planning and all of these services are created, which are efficiently integrated into employment services in the context of the job placement system. The PLE model and tool (Personal Learning Environment) that is integrated into the labour market services are developed and piloted effectively. PLE’s work takes place throughout university studies, where the development of skills, working life contacts and networks can be seen directly at the student’s PLE. The web-based PLE is interactive and makes it possible to make know-how visible with different media formats. As a job-seeker, the online study period directly produces content through the Effectively Workplace service package created in the Student’s EU, providing employers with information on the student’s internships and their requirements, as well as on the wide-ranging competence of graduates.Efficiently in working life, the project is implemented by Lahti University of Applied Sciences and Savonia University of Applied Sciences. The project will be carried out from 1 March 2016 to 28 February 2019 and will be part of the project from the University to the world of work.
