The aim of the Entergr8 project is to support the availability of skilled labour from the rest of Europe to Finland and the use of existing knowledge in the region. The project is part of the Talent Boost Operational Programme and the Strategic Programme for International Skills and Migration of the City of Tampere. The project will contribute to the growth and internationalisation of SMEs through the development of local business services provided by public authorities and support for employment through the provision of well-trained workers for job vacancies. The project supports companies’ ability to recruit international know-how. The project will develop local government services to provide employers and private customers with a better, faster and more integrated service, facilitating the integration of workers into the country. The project supports the work-related, international recruitment of companies seeking growth and trains employers, including their staff, in the integration of the international workforce into the workplace and society. International HUB Tampere, based in Tampere, is planned to provide an official service point to streamline and speed up the initial processes of entry. The purpose of the project funding is to complement the International HUB Tampere service as a joint service point for authorities. In this way, a smooth and fast process of entry of international talent will help companies to get their workforce quickly and promote the attractiveness of the Tampere region in the eyes of international top experts and their families. The aim is to develop the services offered to local companies by increasing and facilitating the recruitment and establishment of international professionals in the labour market and in Pirkanmaa. The aim is to help employers find new ways of recruiting skilled workers. The measures in the project are to meet foreign professionals and employers in Pirkanmaa, modelling and piloting professional skills mapping, piloting work community coaching to support recruitment, and developing and piloting language training and other training for recruiters. TAKK and Spring House work packages focus on these measures. Pirkanmaa has had a preparatory discussion with the authorities on increasing cooperation between authorities. All parties have had a positive view and a desire to develop services in order to provide customers with a more coherent and equitable service in the future. This development will benefit both customer parties and public authorities. The aim of the cooperation is to improve the authorities’ understanding of the activities of other authorities, which also improves the level of customer advice and improves efficiency. During the project, cooperation between authorities will be planned to cater for the future needs of all municipalities in Pirkanmaa regarding the recruitment of international experts. The piloting goes hand in hand with the City of Tampere’s existing service package, the International HUB Tampere (IHT) Centre physically and digitally. Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 virus (corona), attention will be paid at the beginning of the project to a particularly good concept design. The City of Tampere has already located the potential physical locator at the International HUB Tampere office. Consultation with the authorities on the planning of the physical space would take place from the beginning of the project. Depending on the situation, the planning work is carried out under the leadership of the project manager as remote or physical meetings between the authorities and International HUB Tampere. The authorities will form a working group to report on the negotiations to the project steering group and stakeholders. During the piloting, the aim is to anchor and consolidate the service as part of IHT’s international corporate and personal services.
