NEWLOG

The Newlog project aims to solve a major change in the logistics sector. New approaches to growth and restructuring will be developed to ensure employment through training. The aim of the project is to strengthen skills and bring capacity for changing tasks in different areas of logistics. In addition, the job descriptions of the sector have changed considerably. This requires high-quality and appropriate training offerings that are able to take into account the challenges posed by digital transformation.The aim of the project is to improve employment and skills in the sector with the following sub-objectives:1. Identify skills needs in the world of work to address skills shortages in the logistics sector.2. Create new solutions to ensure knowledge in an automated environment. 3. Develop individual’s study, working life and change capabilities in cooperation with working life, as well as individual study and career paths.4. Activating the exchange of experts between the world of work and the educational institution.5. Development of cooperation and networks between providers of training providers in the field of logistics and working life.In line with the objectives of the project, as a result and impact1. Proactively identify the skills needed in the logistics sector in the future.2. The development of both degree and non-qualification-oriented education in accordance with skills needs through a variety of learning environments. Educational content can be converted and utilised in various business and student needs.3. Implement models to strengthen the individual’s ability to change in a changing working environment and create career paths.4. Teachers’ working life skills are updated to meet the skills needs of working life.5. A network of logistics customers and experts will be established. The target group of the project is the logistics business partners, their employees and those applying to the logistics sector, trainees and those who develop their own skills in the work. The project is implemented from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021 and implemented by the City of Vantaa/Vantaa Vocational College Varia, Hyria Koulutus Oy and the City of Kouvola/Kouvola Region Vocational College.
