A change in the working life of an agricultural entrepreneur

The starting point of the project is the rapid change in rural livelihoods, where the challenges of agricultural entrepreneurship have become factors related to profitability and challenging changes in working life, coping with work and changing the operating environment. The aim of the project is to:1. Identify challenging changing situations and the resources needed in the everyday life of farmers 2. Improves and strengthens the well-being and well-being of farmers in various changing situations 3. Find effective tools and tools to deal with different change situations at individual and small group level and try them in practice 4. Test various low-threshold service models that support well-being and inclusion, as well as service guidance that support change 5. Modelling operating models and service paths adapted to the changing situation of farmers and rooting them locally and regionally in the activities of partners, stakeholders, occupational health and well-being services and the third sector (introduction services to farms). The measures of the project are divided into three work packages. The first work package implements company-specific activities and farm visits to farms and businesses. The aim is to identify challenging career change and support needs, as well as plans for the entrepreneur’s future. The second work package focuses on strengthening well-being in change situations and on creating a well-being model through co-development. The third work package will make visible a new model of well-being in supporting and consolidating the challenging changes faced by farmers and integrating it into the service system of the region. As a result, the well-being, resources and know-how of the farmer will be strengthened in challenging change situations, and the service model created in the project will remain at the disposal of entrepreneurs and service systems and rural networks. At regional level, new networks are being created that can be used to support well-being. The main implementation of the project is the Diakonia University of Applied Sciences, which cooperates closely with ProAgria in Etelä-Savo. The project partners include municipalities in the region, occupational health care operators and the parish Family Negotiating Centre, MTK, Mela and the “Meet about Farmer” project. Savo-Karjalan Lähivakuutus supports the implementation of the project financially.
