Hot — Wellbeing services in support of studies (Opinvoimala)

Student well-being is one of the key factors influencing learning motivation and commitment to studies. By comprehensively supporting the well-being of students, we can both ensure the student’s progress and graduation and provide them with information, skills and tools to take care of their own well-being in their further studies, working life and other life. Prevention and care for well-being is a question of both regional and gender equality. Providing services online ensures that support is provided independently of your local services and enables early identification and intervention at a low threshold. The project will build the Opinvoimala online service, which serves as a platform for promoting comprehensive study wellbeing. Opinvoimala offers up-to-date information, tests and surveys to map well-being. The Opinvoima Plant is engaged in the student’s own well-being expertise and thus strengthens self-directed well-being maintenance. The Opinvoima Plant includes aspects of cognitive, mental, physical and social well-being. Opinvoimala offers tools to assess one’s own well-being, as well as helps to identify challenges and guides to support as early as possible in the context of the challenges of well-being that become an obstacle to learning. During the project, the Opinvoimalaitos online service will be built, existing information and services on comprehensive well-being will be gathered and the whole will be supplemented with new information and services. Created service paths, introduced tests and surveys, guidance models and welfare support models are piloted by students and further developed on the basis of pilot experiences and data collection in multiprofessional and multifunctional cooperation. By supporting the student’s well-being and identifying challenges as early as possible, it is possible to prevent the accumulation of problems and multiplier effects. At the same time, Opinvoimala offers students tools to take care of their own well-being in future vocational or higher education studies and later in the future working life. After the project, the appropriate parts of the Opinvoimalaitos are openly available to anyone interested in the theme. Opinvoimala’s services can also be expanded to benefit pupils and students from other educational institutions and to support well-being at work for those already working.
